Anita Mui - 一生一世Part 1 9:00 PM Sunday, June 1, 2008

Hi ppl!
Seriously tired after returning from camp.
Listening to Anita Mui's songs now. Seriously, why do talented peoplr like her always pass away so early?
Really interested to debunk this thought of mine.
Here are some photos of Mui -Jie(梅姐):

This was Anita when she just started her career.
Anita first started singing when she was four and was already a professional when she was 7. She did not get to see her father at all as he had left when she was born. She had an elder sister, Ann Mui who also died from cervical cancer in 2000.
Anita's break to fame started when she won the TVB New Talent Singing Awards 1982. She went to fame with the song,風的季節, or, "Seasons of The Wind). Despite being labeled as a "newbie", she had already been a singer for more than a decade.
Initially, Anita was not so warmly welcomed by the public, with her debut drwing a lukewarm response. However, since 1984, Anita had changed her image from a goody- two-shoes to a rebellious teen, complete with the disco and fast paced songs that eventually became her best known works.

Anita with her best selling album, Bad Girl(坏女孩), which included her best known song, Bad Girl(坏女孩).Both broke the traditional style of songs as they incorporated English and Cantonese in their lyrics. This highlighted the wave of change in the society, when girls were gradually not allowed to court the guys that they fancied. Many teens then went on to become her fans as her songs highlighted the change in the society, which was beginning to accept more of foreign influence.

Her "The Temptress" (妖女) styling.

This song was included in her 1986 album, "The Temptress"(妖女). It included the essence of a Middle Eastern girl.

Her "Blazing Lips"(烈焰紅唇). This image was probably the most famous image of her, as it featured her wearing a skimpy one piece swimwear. She did it subsequently in her television performances and concerts. You can catch this video at this website:
